Specimen Carp Lakes In Hampshire: The Best Day Ticket Venues

Well known for being the birthplace of Jane Austen, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Portsmouth FC, Hampshire also has its fair share of famous carp fisheries.

Whether you are looking for a venue to put a bend in the rod or fish for some more elusive carp, Hampshire has multiple options to satisfy every angler.

Without further ado, let’s take a look (in alphabetical order) at the best day ticket lakes for carp fishing in Hampshire.

Broadlands Lake (Southampton)

Broadlands Lake is located near Romsey, around 7 miles from Southampton.

On the Broadlands complex are three lakes and two exclusive stretches of river. While the rivers and smaller lakes do hold some lovely carp, it is the main lake that most anglers want to fish.

There are 2 islands on the main lake which are obvious hotspots, while the deeper margins are also known to produce fish. The average depth of the lake is around 6ft.

The north bank of the lake is within 200m of the busy M27 motorway, so many anglers opt to fish on the opposite bank behind the cover of the island to keep disturbance to a minimum.

Day tickets at this stunning south Hampshire venue start at £14, while a 24 hour ticket will cost £25. There are discounts available for HM Forces personnel and students.
